Emily Dunlap Carter Bio:

Emily Carter, a lifelong North Carolinian, writes creative non-fiction, prose poetry, and country songs. She performs her work, often as a duo with her guitar and harmonica playing spouse, John, aka Smokin’ Hot Love Biscuit.

Carter’s writing has appeared in Haunted Waters Press, Flying South, North Carolina Literary Review, Bellevue Literary Review, American Songwriter Magazine, EPIC Carteret, Lexington Life Magazine, Carolina Woman Magazine, and Tin Can Review.

Carter spent twenty-five years in learning and development with Dale Carnegie Training. Her CV includes trainer, speaker, sales professional, leader, and, at the close of her career, owner of territories in North and South Carolina. After selling her businesses in 2019, she focused on writing full-time.

She lives in the Southern Outer Banks with John and their kangaroo-coyote rescue dog, Toast. Their grown children Riley and Ryann, live in Asheville and New York City.
